Our private wheel hire is designed for makers who want focused, independent throwing time in a calming, beautifully curated studio environment. Whether you’re refining your technique, preparing pieces for a market, or simply craving quiet wheel time, this offering gives you the space, tools, and atmosphere to immerse yourself in your craft.

During your private wheel session, you’ll enjoy:

• Exclusive use of one pottery wheel for the duration of your booking
• Access to studio tools, trimming tools, sponges, and essentials
• Use of our underglazes & studio equipment as needed
• A peaceful, supportive studio atmosphere perfect for deep, uninterrupted making

Clay can be purchased in-studio for $30 per 10kg bag, and kiln firings may be added for an additional fee based on weight, size, and firing requirements.

Private wheel hire is self-directed and intended for those with prior wheel-throwing experience. This is not a taught session.

• anyone wanting quiet, dedicated time to throw in a serene space

What to Expect

You’ll work independently at your own pace. A Posy team member will always be present in the studio for safety and general assistance but we will not be teaching during your session.

You’re responsible for setting up and cleaning your wheel area before leaving to ensure the studio remains tidy for the next maker - you must handle all your reclaim & trimmings.

All pieces must be transported to and from the studio unless an arrangement for firing is made. Firing can be organised through the studio, with turnaround times depending on kiln scheduling.

1-Hour Wheel Hire: $20
2.5-Hour Wheel Hire: $40
Half-Day (4 Hours): $60

Clay: Mid Fire White Clay – 10kg Bag $30
Firing: Discounted bisque & glaze firing (per kilo, assessed at time of firing)
